For some reason I wanted to see the ocean.
All alone
I arrived at the place of my memories.
By the winter sea even the wind is freezing
and I hear the rumbling of the waves
that sound like crying.
Back then you looked at me
with furrowed brows and asked, "Aren't you cold?",
as you embraced me strongly and gently.
"Ah, is there such a thing as eternal happiness?
Oh, please tell us.", we asked the waves.
The sandy beach we walked on together,
when all that remained was our merged shadows.
Now I walk it all alone.
The snow dances as even the sound of the waves
plays a waltz
that stirs up my feelings.
Back then you took off your coat
and with only slightly narrowed eyes
you quietly put it on me.
"Ah, is there such a thing as eternal happiness?
Oh, please tell us.", we asked the waves.
"Ah, what is eternal happiness?
Oh, please answer me.", though I've asked
myself this many times.
