In the distant eastern land of Yanato, there are believed to be two worlds: the world atop the peak where the gods reside, and the world at the foot where humans dwell.
Sakunahime, a high-ranking goddess and a lesser goddess, was born between the war god and the deity of abundance, yet she lived a carefree life of squandering the grain accumulated by her parents...
One day, by a twist of fate, she is banished from the divine capital and sent to Hinoe Island, a barren land infested with demons!? With no guarantee of food for tomorrow, she starts cultivating rice and fighting demons. Thus begins the communal life of humans who wandered into the realm of the gods and the novice deity, amidst the scattered husks of rice dancing in the air!
