Rudger exists solely in the imagination of Amanda Shuffleup. To everyone else, he remains invisible—until the malevolent Mr. Bunting enters Amanda's life. Mr. Bunting has a sinister agenda: he preys on imaginary friends, with whispers that he may even consume them. Now, he's set his sights on Rudger.
Rudger finds himself isolated and fleeing for his very existence. His desperate quest is twofold: he must locate Amanda before Mr. Bunting tracks him down, and he must do so before Amanda forgets him, causing him to gradually fade into nothingness. Yet, how can an unreal companion navigate the harsh realities of the tangible world?
