In spite of his mismatched skills for his position in the Metropolitan Police Department's investigative team, Totomaru Isshiki possesses a strong desire to solve homicides and aid the afflicted. Acting upon a senior's counsel, he embarks on a quest to seek the assistance of the elusive figure, Ron Kamonohashi. Once a standout detective at the prestigious Detective Training Academy Blue, Ron slipped into anonymity five years ago under mysterious circumstances.
Anticipating a poised and neatly attired individual, Totomaru is instead met with an untamed-haired, uninhibited oddball. Having spent years in seclusion, Ron bears little resemblance to his former self and is initially unwilling to entertain the detective's proposal. However, in a swift turnabout, Ron's resistance gives way to an impulsive immersion into an ongoing serial murder case.
