Miyo Saimori's life is plagued by the consequences of an unloving, arranged marriage. Following her mother's passing, her father introduces his lover and her daughter, Kaya, into their household, reducing Miyo to the role of a mere servant. To make matters worse, while Kaya inherits the family's psychic abilities, Miyo is devoid of any special talents, leaving her feeling worthless.
Enduring years of mistreatment, Miyo learns to endure silently, concealing her pain and complying with every order. Therefore, it comes as no surprise when she discovers that she is to be married off to Kiyoka Kudou, a military captain known for his rumored cruelty, which has driven away his previous potential wives.
From a childhood filled with suffering to an anticipated marriage of agony, that seems to be the future awaiting Miyo— or so she believes. Contrary to her expectations, her new husband proves to be kind-hearted, shattering her preconceptions.
